[david.kain] began in 1999 as an alias for supporting a musical hobby in electronic music. The name [david.kain] was chosen as a replacement for SECTION_8, which happened to be taken already by another band. At that time, [david.kain] was in its infantile stage, consisting of nothing more than a Desktop PC running a (now retired) softsynth emulator called ReBirth. As time progressed, so too did the project. Slowly, [david.kain] grew larger, adding more sophisticated equipment, and growing in experience.

Because [david.kain] isn't signed, and so isn't confined by any sort of contractual obligations, his music tends to be wide in range. Much like endeavors in writing, [david.kain] will often switch genres from track to track, simply because it's more fun that way. Emotion and creative intuition dictate where he'll venture next. As a result, the [david.kain] catalogue is quite eclectic. "Electronic," obviously, is the common thread, but typically he'll compose anything from Ambient to Melodic Trance, Drum 'n Bass to Industrial.

Recently, [david.kain] has become slightly more focused, if wider reaching. More and more of his studio time has been spent collaborating or producing other artists, further diversifying his portfolio. Currently he is involved in projects with: Majai, Delancy, and Doug Jay
